About Rag & Bone
Rag & Bone is a quality American fashion brand. It is known for well-constructed men’s wear and women’s wear that mix clean, classic lines with urban style. The brand appeals to those who prefer fashion with understated designs. Rag & Bone’s designs do not scream for attention to the label. Rather, the craftsmanship that has been put into each creation speaks for the brand.
Beginnings As A Men’s Wear Brand
Marcus Wainwright and Nathan Bogle, two British expats in New York, founded Rag & Bone in 2002. The brand’s philosophy of making well-crafted clothes sprung from Wainwright’s experience. He couldn’t find jeans that were well made and fitted well. Although he didn’t have any experience in fashion or design, Wainwright decided to make jeans. Soon, he found a denim factory in Kentucky and decided to start a fashion company. Rag & Bone first started as a men’s wear brand with the launch of its men’s line in 2004.
In 2005, Bogle left the company, and David Neville joined Wainwright to grow Rag & Bone into a well-respected brand. Rag & Bone has received recognition from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. In 2006, the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation awarded the grand prize for the men’s category to Rag & Bone.
Branching Out To Women’s Wear And More
Rag & Bone has expanded its line. It now also includes women’s wear. The brand creates dresses, coats, jackets, shirts, sweaters, and more. Rag & Bone now also offers shoes and accessories such as scarves, hats, card cases, handbags, wallets, belts, and gloves. Recently, it launched a line of beautiful fragrances.
But Rag & Bone is still most famous for its men’s jeans and women’s jeans. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Cindy Crawford, Justine Timberlake, Emma Stone, and Jennifer Lawrence, to name a few, have been spotted wearing Rag & Bone.
