Every code on this site has to earn its place. This page is the full account of where our deals come from, what happens to them before they go up, and how we make money, so you can judge the listings for yourself instead of taking a badge at face value.
Where Our Deals Come From
A deal reaches this site through one of five routes. None of them skips the testing described below.
- Direct from the retailer. Most of our deals come from the stores themselves: their own pages, their newsletters, or a feed we take from them. Offers negotiated for Dealhack readers and published nowhere else are marked exclusive on the listing.
- Our own sourcing. The agents monitor retailer sites and public announcements continuously, which is how most codes arrive.
- Deal feeds and API partners. A steady stream of new offers we then test ourselves rather than republish on trust.
- Social and community posts. Codes surface on Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and Reddit before they reach anyone’s feed.
- Shoppers. The agents cannot see the code that arrived in your order confirmation or got handed to you at the till. Those come from shoppers, and every store page has a form for sending one in.
How a Code Gets Tested
Nothing goes up on trust. Each code runs through the same five stages, and each store page shows the dates and counts that stage produced for that store specifically.
- Collect. The code is logged with its source, its stated terms, and the store it belongs to.
- Test. An agent adds real items to a real cart at the actual store and applies the code at checkout. We read the order total before and after. If the total goes down, the code is confirmed and dated. If it doesn’t, you never see it.
- Score. Every offer is rated from 1 to 100 on how likely it is to work, based on how recently it cleared, how often it clears, and what shoppers report back. Higher is better, and we don’t inflate it.
- Re-test. The agents don’t test once and walk away. Codes go back through a live cart on a schedule, around the clock, and every listing shows when it was last confirmed working.
- Prune. A code that stops clearing gets pulled off the page automatically. Expired and dead codes don’t linger.
Promotions are different: a sale or a free-shipping offer has no code to run through a checkout. Those are dated when they go live and dropped when they lapse.
Where Humans Come In
Agents handle the volume; humans handle the fine print. Minimum spends, category and brand exclusions, one-time-use limits, new-customer restrictions, regional and currency limits. The conditions that make a working code fail on your particular cart get a human read, and we note what we find on the listing so nothing ambushes you at checkout.
Humans also review the edge cases the agents flag, and they read every message shoppers send us. Upvotes and downvotes on individual codes feed straight back into the testing queue: a code that keeps getting reported as failing goes back through a cart, and comes off the page if it keeps failing.
What “Verified” Means Here
It means one thing: a code applied a discount when our agents tested it, on the date shown. It is not a promise about your cart. Retailers change their terms without warning, so once in a while a confirmed code won’t work for everyone. When that happens, try the next one on the list. We keep several stacked for exactly this reason.
How We Make Money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you buy through one, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. That is what keeps the site free, with no account, no paywall and no fee to view or copy a code.
It does not change which codes we publish or how we rank them. A code that fails a cart test stays off the page whether or not we earn on that retailer, and a code that clears goes up whether or not we do. The scores and dates you see are the test results.
