Gardening is a wonderful activity and can teach us so many different things, including patience, a respect for our Earth, and all about the plant life cycle. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when that first flower, fruit, or vegetable that you planted and cared for yourself, pops up. It's so much more than magic, it's science. And with so many different things to plant and grow, you can make your garden as colorful as your imagination by incorporating different plants. You could even create a garden with different plants all dedicated to your favorite color. There are so many to choose from!
Everyone has a job to do in the garden, whether you're big or small. With many different tasks that need to be done in order to make your plants grow, like tilling, planting, watering, pruning; you might want to grab a friend and a parent to help you. A parent or grownup will be able to help you with some of the gardening tools you might need; and always remember to ask for permission before you get started. For a small garden, you could just as easily roll your sleeves up and do it by hand; go on, don't be afraid to get a little dirty and have some fun with it!
