Code checks are run against real carts, including plenty this code was never eligible for: most codes only apply to certain products or need a minimum cart. We count the carts it worked on, not the ones it never fit.

Shoppers who tried it at checkout entered this code in their cart in the last 14 days, each checkout counted once. Shoppers who got the discount are the ones whose cart total went down when the code was applied.

Code confidence is our agents' read on how likely this code is to work. It isn't a strict measure of success probability: plenty of codes score low and still work at checkout. It was last recalculated .

REI published this code itself, on its own pages, its newsletter or a feed we take from it.

REI Code Checks, Day by Day

Every REI code check from the last 14 days, plotted by the day it ran. Green is how many came back working. Red is how many rei.com would not accept. That is the checkout testing you did not have to sit through yourself.

where this data came from:
181 shoppers reporting back7 automated cart runs

181 of these results came from shoppers telling us whether a code worked; the rest come from automated checks and the other sources above. Last confirmed working on . Codes that stop clearing get pulled off this page automatically.

What These Numbers Mean

A code check is one result for one code. Most are our agents applying it to a real cart and reading the order total before and after; the rest come from tracked orders and from shoppers reporting back, as broken down above. Worked means the code was accepted and the total went down. Would not apply means rei.com refused it on that cart. That is not the same as the code being fake. The usual reasons are:

  • It expired or the store switched it off after it was published.
  • It was single-use and had already been redeemed.
  • It only covers certain categories, brands or individual products.
  • The cart did not reach a minimum spend.
  • It is limited to new customers, a first order, or an email sign-up.
  • It cannot be combined with an active sale or another code.
  • It is tied to a different country, currency or membership.

So a code that failed one check can still work on your cart, and the success rate (checks that worked divided by all checks) is best read as how easily REI discounts apply in general, not as a verdict on any single code. Hover any bar in the chart to see that day on its own.

When REI Runs Sales

Recurring events worth timing an order around. Windows shift year to year, so treat them as a shopping calendar rather than a fixed date.

  1. late May
    Anniversary Sale

REI's biggest event of the year features massive discounts across camping gear, clothing, and outdoor equipment for members and general shoppers.

  2. late August to early September
    Labor Day Sale

A major end-of-summer clearance event offering deep price cuts on summer recreation gear, water sports equipment, and apparel.

  3. November
    Gear Up Sale

Pre-holiday promotional event offering steep discounts on winter sports gear, cold-weather clothing, and holiday gifts.

Locate the Code Box at rei.com

The agents tested the code. Entering it is the one part we leave to you. Here's exactly where the REI promo code goes at checkout.

Follow the shopper-submitted screenshots below to spot the REI promo box and apply your code. Miss a step and even a working code does nothing, so the agents mapped every one for you.

Before You Buy at REI

What shoppers ask most about REI.

›What items or brands are excluded from coupon codes?

Promo codes and coupons never apply to sale or clearance items, previous purchases, gift cards, or co-op memberships. Additionally, specific manufacturer restrictions exclude brands like Patagonia and Arc'teryx from general discounts.

›Can I stack multiple promotional codes on a single order?

Only one coupon code or promotional discount can be applied per order. If you attempt to enter multiple codes at checkout, the newer code will typically replace the existing one rather than stacking.

›Does REI offer price adjustments if an item goes on sale later?

REI offers a price adjustment if an item you purchased at full price goes on sale within 14 days of your original purchase date. You must contact customer support or visit a store to request the credit.

›Can hazardous or flammable items be shipped internationally?

Hazardous or flammable items such as camping stoves containing fuel canisters cannot be shipped internationally or to Alaska, Hawaii, and APO/FPO addresses due to strict surface and air transit laws.

How We Verify REI Codes

Nothing goes up here on trust. A REI code is collected, applied to a real rei.com cart, dated the last time it took money off an order, scored on what came back, and pulled once it stops clearing. Promotions have no code to run through a checkout, so those are dated when they go live and dropped when they lapse. Here is how far that has got on this page, and every change the agents logged along the way.

Help Other REI Shoppers

Not every REI code reaches us from the store. 1 code on this page was first submitted by a shopper. They have also sent back 181 checkout results in the last 14 days, telling us which codes worked on a real cart and which came up empty. Wherever a code comes from, it still has to pass the same cart test before it goes up here.

23 hours
since a code sent in by a shopper was last run through a live rei.com cart
96%
of every check on this page came from a shopper, not an agent

Have a code we missed?

Send it over and the agents will run it through a real rei.com cart. If it works, it lands here with the test behind it.

Did a code work for you?

Open any REI code above and tell us whether it worked. It takes one tap, no sign-up, and a code that keeps failing gets pulled off the page.
