Shopping Online at Best Buy
The first thing you notice on Best Buy’s bright blue homepage is pristine photos of their latest products available. You will find several useful toolbars to help you find just what you’re looking for. At the very top of the homepage, you’ll find a toolbar highlighting their weekly ads. You will also find credit card offers, a gift card center, order status, and store locator.
In the middle of the homepage, Best Buy features its latest and greatest product. The main toolbar has several categories – Products, Services, Deals – along with a search bar front and center. The primary categories have several subcategories, which you can view by hovering over the main category’s widget.
Best Buy’s website also highlights their Deal of the Day. This is an area just for cell phone accessories, Top Deals, and Special Events. Special event examples include the Tax Refund Event. This is where Best Buy drops prices on select items so you can use your tax refund to invest in some cool new tech for your office or home. There’s even the Best Buy Outlet, where you’ll find clearance items. You can also find Open-Box products and refurbished electronics for sale at a price your wallet would find agreeable.

As the name might suggest, Best Buy wants to prove it has the best prices on all their inventory items. Best Buy offers a Price Match Guarantee on several products on their website and in-store. If the item is identical to a competitor’s product and available now at a “qualifying online retailer” (such as Amazon, HP, Dell, or TigerDirect.com) or offered by a local brick-and-mortar competitor, then Best Buy guarantees to match their price. Some exclusions apply. Check out the list on their website to see which items do not qualify for the price match guarantee.
Geek Squad & Best Buy Services
Best Buy has its own tech support program called the Geek Squad to assist customers. Their support is offer 24/7 over phone or email, and they also offer in-home and in-store repair for your electronics.
If your tablet’s screen is acting wonky, simply call up the Geek Squad and they’ll determine how to fix it for you. If your computer is having software issues, the Geek Squad can help you untangle the digital mess and keep your computer running smoothly.
Other services offered by Best Buy include AppleCare Protection packages for iPhones, iPads, Mac computers, and Macbooks. Best Buy also has its own protection plans available – Geek Squad support included – for other electronics. These plans assure you that if Best Buy can’t fix your device then they’ll replace it. The plans also have options for accidental damage protection and the general coverage options last between 1-5 years.
If you sign up for a protection plan, prices start at $39.99 for tablets and $59.99 for computers (these have 1, 2, or 3-year options). You must sign up for a protection plan within 15 days of purchasing or receiving (if purchased online) your electronic device from Best Buy or you may not be eligible for a protection plan if you wait a few months.
