Smashbox Shopping Guide
Living for Lipstick – and All Things Makeup and Beauty
When thinking of all things Smashbox, a photo studio might come to mind. That’s exactly how the Smashbox Cosmetics company came to life. Its creators are brothers Dean and Davis Factor, sons of famed Max Factor. The brothers birthed the brand after being inspired by the Los Angeles photography studio of the same name. Smashbox is synonymous with photography and models – and it’s no surprise that the brand earned a name for itself among the hottest models and celebrities thanks to that photography studio. Since 1996, Smashbox and its founders have worked to provide flawless beauty to those in Hollywood and beyond.
Every single product from the brand’s renowned lipsticks and smoothing primers is created to provide customers with a flawless look (the kind one sees on the red carpet). With big-name celebrities like Charlize Theron and Drew Barrymore as the brand’s biggest fans, the company has grown to include a modeling agency, the original photo studio, and even a clothing line. Today, Estee Lauder owns the brand and the Factor brothers maintain the helm.
It All Started with Authenticity at Smashbox
Since the beginning, Smashbox has stuck to its core principle: making women and men look flawless on film. Yet it’s grown into so much more. From lipstick to primers to eyeshadow, everything they do is about making people look as beautiful as possible. Lipstick is one of the featured products at Smashbox, but the brand has grown far beyond a single product and a photography studio. Since its growth under Estee Lauder, the company has grown into an international product that’s known for much more than lipstick.

Connect with Smashbox on Social Media
When it comes to connecting with customers of the brand, Smashbox aims to make its social media accounts as inspiring as possible – after all, who wants to use makeup without trying it or seeing it in action? On Twitter, you can connect with Smashbox, where the brand posts short videos of their products in action, as well as videos and images that promote collaborations with celebrities. Smashbox also retweets customers’ photos wearing their products, customers reviewing products and any press or promotional articles. Facebook features different posts, ones that are unique to the site. There, Smashbox promotes products with inspiring photos, descriptions of the product, links to buy and also shares tips for using different products.
The brand is very dedicated to promoting individual products and ways you can use them seasonally. Yet on YouTube, you can watch makeup tutorial videos, see social stars and influencers of the brand as well as celebrities who star in many of the videos. You can also check out reviews by different bloggers or vloggers, and lots and lots of how-tos for Smashbox products. Finally, on Instagram, you’ll see images of single products and themed images that center around one product and a color palate. Some posts feature people wearing Smashbox products, and sometimes they just highlight a facial feature, like eyes with makeup on them.
